Accessible Canada Act (Bill C-81)

The Accessible Canada Act became law on June 21, 2019 and aims to create a barrier-free Canada through the proactive identification, removal and prevention of barriers to accessibility wherever Canadians interact with areas under federal jurisdiction. This includes the accessibility of federal government websites. Organizations that fall under federal jurisdiction are required to comply or risk fines up to $250,000.
